About Tonya

Hi, I’m Tonya Iverson CEO of Your Personal Best Fitness, certified personal trainer and nutrition coach in Atlanta, GA. My fitness philosophy is “you’re stronger than you think”. You’re stronger than you think emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. You just need the right tools to tap into those already innate strengths. It is my job and my passion to give you the right tools and encouragement to obtain your health and fitness goals.

I started her own fitness journey over 15 years ago after the birth of my daughter. I desperately needed help losing the extra “baby weight”, and didn’t know where to turn. So I hired a very competent personal trainer to help. After working with him for several weeks, I did everything he prescribed for me to do, and I started to see major differences in every area of my body. I also learned all about proper nutrition and functional exercise and even more about myself as a person. I became totally hooked on fitness and got inspired to help others adopt healthier lifestyles.

I founded Your Personal Best Fitness (YPB) in 2010 to meet the needs of the “over 30” woman, who is over-worked, over-stressed and maybe experiencing a pre-existing condition. From the new mom trying to get her “body back” to the busy corporate professional, I believe everyone deserves to be fit. YPB specializes in one-on-one, partner and group training, and online nutrition and lifestyle coaching. Before I got bit by the fitness bug, I wanted to become a T.V. journalist and I received my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Broadcast Journalism from Georgia State University. But after doing an internship at one of the local television stations, I quickly realized that reporting the news wasn’t my passion. I now hold my personal training certificate from the nationally recognized Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and I’m an active member of the Idea Health and Fitness Association. I also love conducting workshops and speaking at various seminars and events on the importance of regular exercise, proper nutrition and maintaining a healthy, fit lifestyle. When I’m not training, I enjoy spending quality time with my kids and family, traveling, going to the movies, reading personal development books and suspense novels and being actively involved at my church.
